Labor Day Trip to NC

Over Labor Day weekend and the following week, Chance and I made a trip back to NC.  It was a wonderful weekend and we made a lot of great memories.  This post is very belated and extremely long...but it was a jam-packed week and we did a TON of stuff!  Hope you enjoy reading about all of our exciting adventures in NC

To start the trip, we landed in Charlotte on Sept 1st and headed down to Myrtle Beach to visit one of my college roommates and her family.  This was Chance's second time seeing the ocean and I've discovered he's a beach bum at heart :)

Jennifer and Davis have a little girl who is 18 months old, and they are expecting another baby in December, so it was a special time to get to visit them before baby #2 gets here.

We spent 2 days and nights with them which included 2 mornings at the beach, a trip to Broadway at the Beach, breakfast on the Strip and so much fun time playing with Ada.

Ada LOVED Chance and they had a great time playing

Love this sweet girl :)

This is our family vacation house we've been going to since I was a little girl.
I had to show Chance while we were there!

We left the beach on our anniversary (Sept 3rd) and drove to Morganton to spend the rest of the week with my family and for my cousin's wedding.  My mom had frozen our wedding cake at her house last year, and she had it all thawed and ready for us to eat for our anniversary when we got home.

September 4th was my parents' 30th wedding anniversary, so we cooked them a delicious dinner of fresh seafood that we bought at the beach.  It was so special to be home for such a special occasion for my parents.

My Nana and I watched my cousin Kelsey's little boy for a couple of days, and they were such fun days.  He is talking so much and at a really neat stage - he changes so much in between my visits and it was special to spend some quality time with him.  It blew me away when he knew my name and I haven't seen him since Christmas...smart boy!!

Chance got to spend a lot of time with my dad at the barn - getting his "work" fix while we were away from KS.  He can only go so long without putting on some work clothes and getting dirty!

On our way to set up for the wedding at the lake...gorgeous!

He makes me look short!

*If you're still reading this really long post, you're about halfway through!*

The reason we were home in the first place was to celebrate my cousin Bradley's wedding to his incredible fiance, Welby.

The bride and groom at their rehearsal dinner

Our high school had a home game while we were home, and since my mom is the cheer leading coach, and my sister cheers and marches in the band, we all went to the game after the rehearsal dinner.  It's always fun to be back in that stadium...it brings back so many memories of happy times growing up.

You can spot Carrie pretty easily

Isn't she adorable?!?

Saturday was the big wedding day and it was such a beautiful day!! The wedding and reception were both held at Bradley and Welby's house at one of the best spots on Lake James...simply breathtaking.

Todd playing the tunes for the wedding

My dad must have forgotten it was a wedding...just wandered over to hang out with Todd lol!

Here comes the groom!

Such a blessed day!

My Aunt Donna and Uncle Kenny

YAY! They're married!!

After the wedding, we went to a cookout with the Stephens side of the family a couple of miles up the lake.  My Aunt Libby and Uncle Chris had rented a cabin for the weekend so we all gathered up there and had a great dinner to cap off the weekend.  It was such an awesome place!

To round out the night, we all gathered on the screened-in porch of the cabin and Todd played and sang songs while a fire burned in the fireplace.

Perfect ending to a perfect week at home
