The Past Two Months...

The past two months at the Gregory household have been a whirlwind..but what's new?!  Since we got back from Christmas, we have been in a constant state of "go" and I've been majorly slacking on my blogging.  I've tried to re-cap most of our time since New Years in this blog in an attempt to get back on track.  We'll see how long it lasts!

The 2nd weekend of January, we went up to Manhattan with our friend Drew to celebrate Christmas with Bob & Marty.  We also went to the KState and OKState men's basketball game that weekend.  It is always fun to be "treated" to a weekend with Bob and Marty...in simple terms, they spoil us :)

The 3rd weekend in January, my family lost one of our beloved members, and I went home to NC for a quick weekend to celebrate her life and spend time with my family.  Lib wasn't my blood kin, but she was my family in every other sense.  Her daughters and granddaughters are a part of our family as well - we spend the holidays together and call each other 'cousins'.  Lib was such an amazing woman - she was kind, intelligent, classy, driven - too many things to list.  It was a sad but wonderful weekend with my family, but as always it went by too fast.

The last weekend in January, I attended a Women's Encounter weekend in Salina, KS.  It is a Women's trip focused on growing in your faith and building your relationship with God.  In one word...it was amazing!  You can learn more about the Flint Hills Women's Encounter on their website HERE.  I'm scheduled to go as a server to the Encounter offered by a church here in Hutch in mid-April and can't wait.  What an amazing way to be closer to God, let go of the burdens of the world, and worship for an ENTIRE weekend :)

The 2nd weekend of February, the Cancer Council of Reno County does a big even called The Roundup.  It is a western themed event where people attend, eat, buy things at the silent and live auction, and have a fun time just hanging out.  It's laid back and a fun even that we look forward to every year.  Our friend Amy is one of the volunteer organizers, and she asked us to be servers for a few of the tables.  This is our 2nd year working the event, and as always, we had a blast!  Here are a couple of pictures from the event.

Since we now have lights installed in our house (see my blog post - We Have Lights!) we can actually enjoy the daylight on the weekend and work during the evening.  An afternoon ride sounded perfect a few weeks ago after two straight weekends of working on the house non-stop.

The rest of February was consumed by the two different snow storms (see blog post) that came within a week of each other and literally snowed us into our house!  It was crazy but it was also fun...I don't think I've seen that much snow in a VERY long time!  Go check out my blog post for pictures of our snow storm adventures.

Ok, I'll try to keep up to date with March.  So far, it's the 7th and nothing big is happening outside of remodeling which I'll blog about separately   Whew, I feel like I've accomplished something by getting caught up..let's just hope I can stick with it!
