Um, can we say...I'm behind! It's February and I'm just now getting our Christmas post done...oh my gosh! We had a wonderful holiday...it went by too fast, but it always seems to when we're headed in so many directions. We traveled to NC for Christmas, made it back before New Year's and then celebrated Christmas with Chance's family on New Year's day. Our trip was started late due to a funeral of a very close friend, so we were on quite the roller coaster over the holidays for many reasons. It was a jam packed week in NC, but we had a great time and were very thankful for the time spent with family. Here's a (not so quick) run-down of our trip to NC.

We made it into Morganton the evening before Christmas Eve, so it was a quick turn-around before we were in full-swing holiday celebration. We spent Christmas Eve at Nana & Papa's and had supper then opened presents. We also were able to spend time with everyone telling them about our news of expecting another baby this summer. It was such a fun night and now that the 4th generation is growing, it's even more special that we all get to spend the time together.

The day after Christmas, we had temps in the 60's and 70's AGAIN, so we headed to the park with our sweet boy for some family time. We haven't been to the park just the three of us in a VERY long time, and since the park was completely empty we had everything to ourselves. It was so much fun!

We celebrated Christmas with my mom's side of the family that evening and Henry was the center of attention. We don't exchange gifts but everyone still get's Henry something, so he gets to open presets and enjoy the loves from everyone.
The day after Christmas was also Carrie's 21st birthday....WHAT?!?!? How is that possible???!! I still remember hearing her first cries that sleepy morning in 1994 and she's already legal to drink. I'm in denial that I'm that old :)
For her birthday, she asked to have a family and friend night at the bowling alley, so after celebrating and singing to her at the house, we headed out to do some bowling. It was a blast and brought back a lot of memories of us 4 kids bowling together in that place.
Of course, we had to hit the bar afterwards and we had a fun night at a local downtown bar in Morganton. I even ran into some of my old high school friends and got to catch up.
The next day, Chance and I made the trip up to Asheville to go to the Biltmore Candlelight Christmas tour. It was a gift from my parents for Christmas and it was so much fun. We had free babysitting, and my parents got to the spend the evening with Henry which meant the world to them, so it was a win-win all around.

On our last night in Morganton, it's tradition that we do a fish fry...especially when Chance is there to help. We all gathered at Nana & Papa's and spent time with everyone before we had to leave.
