Three weekends ago, Chance and I went to a marriage retreat in Branson, MO hosted by Family Life. It was a great weekend and such a wonderful way to help our relationship become stronger and healthier. Let's face it folks...having a child pretty much shakes you at your foundation, not to mention everything else we deal with on a daily basis, so it never hurts to try and discover new ways to make your relationship stronger. Plus, it was our first weekend away just the two of us since having Henry and it turns out we really needed it:)
We've been
planning it since January, but it sort of snuck up on us, especially
since we've been running around so busy lately. We were able to head
out on a Thursday afternoon, drop Henry, the dogs AND the horses at
Chance's parents' house and head to NW Arkansas for the night. We stayed with our friends Blake & Jessica for the night and got to catch up with them for a few hours, which was too short, but so worth the trip! On Friday morning, we headed out to see my friend from Elanco who recently had a baby. It's so hard to believe how little he is and how Henry was that tiny only 17 short months ago. Baby Bo was a month old the day of our visit and it definitely didn't help my "baby itch" to carry him around for a couple of hours :)

After our visit with the Bixby's, we headed through the Ozarks (one of my favorite places aside from home) and drove to Branson. We had a little time to shop at the Tanger Outlets before our conference started, and it turns out, we mostly shopped for Henry...just always finding something cute for him rather than for us :)
Free time...
Chateau on the Lake
Saturday night was Date Night and we headed out on the town to enjoy a much needed date night with no curfew...woohoo!

The fog rolled in at dusk and it was so pretty!
Light show at the Landing
Finished the night at the piano bar...we love these places and always have so much fun!
It was a great weekend, but man did we miss our little guy! Four days (almost) and three nights was WAY too long for us we've decided. By the end of the weekend, all we cared about was getting home to him before the start of another week...I think we talked about him for half of the 5 hour drive home :)
While we were in Branson, Henry stayed with Gramie and Grandpa and had a really fun weekend! These are some of the pictures that Gramie took for us.
On Sunday, the family celebrated Grandma Gregory's birthday. We missed it by several hours, but Henry was able to go and see all of his cousins.
Henry is #13 of 15 great-grandkids
