Life with a toddler is a never ending adventure to say the least! Henry is pretty much full speed ahead (almost running) and into everything these days! Just when I think we've gotten everything baby-proofed, he finds something we missed...he is definitely keeping us on our toes!
The past two weeks have included so many new things Henry is doing, it's hard to keep up! We've also had a lot going on that's kept us very busy...as usual. Combine that with the time change, which I'm convinced is from the devil, and we've had quite a few ups and downs with our little man. Even this weekend (after being up with him every 2-3 hours the past two nights) we discovered that he has 4 molars coming in at the same time...poor baby!
Early morning snuggles with my sweet boy - we love Saturdays :)

The day after his brithday Henry had his 1 year checkup with Dr. Lane. He weighed 23lbs 6oz, (90th percentile) and was 31" tall (80th percentile). He only had to get 2 shots this time because we were behind getting some of his 6mo shots - we have to wait another month before we can get the rest of the shots. He did great and was excited that Daddy came with us to keep him entertained.
After his appointment, Henry went to daycare, but to a new room - Toddler 1. He graduated from the infant room to the 1 year old room since he had his birthday and is walking very well. It was a traumatic week for everyone - especially Henry. There are several kids that are biting in Toddler 1 and since Henry was the new kid and very interesting, he got bit almost every day last week! It was so hard and we went through a lot of bath and forth about moving him to a different facility. We toured and talked and we have decided to keep him where he is for now. He has had a good week this week - no bites and he isn't even crying when we drop him off anymore. He seems happy and adjusted now so it's hard to think about rocking his little world again. Guess we'll just wait and see what happens.
Shifting gears, here are a couple pictures of our deck that Chance has worked so hard to get stained and finished before winter. Here is a pictures of the fall decorations I finally got put out. Too bad the weather got so cold so fast and I didn't get to plant my mums in time...oh well, maybe next year.
Pretty sunset - winter is definitely coming
Henry loves having supper with Ama - he tries to share his food with her :)
This kid is obsessed with his dogs - chases them around the house and just laughs!
Trying to FaceTime with Henry and Chance when I was out of town...
Last Friday, I took Henry to Great Clips to get his first "official" haircut. I wanted it to be trimmed up for our family pictures last Saturday and didn't want to risk messing it up doing it myself. He didn't like sitting in the chair by himself, so I held him while the lady cut it. He looked so handsome after wards - and SO grown up!
My dad came to visit last week and we have loved having him here. He went to help Chance on Friday at the ranch in Sharon - they gathered and loaded all of our heifers and brought them up to Chance's parent's farm for winter. They worked cattle on Friday and we finally got to see him on Friday night! Henry loves my dad and just lights up when he sees him. It was a lot of fun getting to spend time with him and also to have him here to work cattle last Sunday.
Saturday playtime with PopPop
We had family pictures taken last Saturday afternoon and they turned out awesome! I'll share some in a separate post (but don't want to spoil our Christmas card!).
After our pictures - practicing driving the truck (it was parked!).
Us at a wedding reception for Chance's cousin on Saturday night
The rest of the weekend we spent at Chance's parent's house so we could work the rest of our cattle. We had all of our older cows to work, plus all of the new yearling calves we just got in from South Dakota. It was a busy Sunday, but the weather was BEAUTIFUL and we had a fun time.

We said goodbye to my Daddy last Monday and he headed to California to deliver my cousin Bradley's track chair. He headed back this way on Friday, but had to take a longer route due to the winter weather in the Rockies. He should be back here by this evening and we can't wait!

Most of our evenings have been like this since the time change...

Henry is now waving non-stop and loves waving "hi" and "bye-bye". He also loves giving kisses and sometimes giving hugs. We can almost always talk him out of a kiss, especially if he wants something :) He is now saying "more" in sign language and also "all done" when he's eating...he just smiles so big and is so proud of himself! I've been working with him on the sign language since he started eating solids, and it's exciting to see it starting to pay off. He is also starting to respond to commands very well - like "come here" and "lets go" and a few others. He doesn't want to miss out on anything! The first thing Henry does when he wakes up is look out the window to find the horses. He points and makes a noise...we're interpreting it as "horses" haha! Just this week, Henry started making noises for things like "dog" and "truck" on command...he really likes to make the "broom-broom" noise! It's hilarious and so cute! He loves to hold his arms up when he wants to be picked up...and he loves to wrestle...lord help us!
It's amazing to see how quickly he is changing and developing...and it blows my mind how fast this time with him is going. We have had some cold snowy weather this weekend and have spent a lot of quality time together. I'm going to do a separate post with some pictures from playing in the snow...stay tuned!
