Our Fun Visit to NC

In mid October, Henry and I went back to NC for a long weekend visit and I am way overdue sharing the pictures.  We had a BLAST!  Our weekend included flying to Raleigh and spending time with our cousins along with visiting Carrie and Sam AND attending the NC State Fair, We then traveled to Morganton and spent time with Nana, Papa and a lot my side of the family.  We took way too many pictures (of course) and this post contains a TON so I'll try to keep the stories to a minimum.

Traveling by yourself with a toddler is a huge accomplishment...
we survived, but we were definitely missing Daddy!

I may or may not have been the person letting her kid crawl around on the airport floor near the gate...:/  At least I had the hand wipes ready for when I picked him up!

Reunited after 2 1/2 long months!

We stayed with Frank and CJ and on the first night, Meghan, Jessica, Carrie and Sam all came over to see us and have supper.  Henry was so excited to see everyone...especially Aunt Carrie :)

H loved CJ's homemade lasagna!

Since Henry's 1st birthday was so close, CJ, Frank and the girls threw him a surprise birthday party!  It was awesome, complete with his first cake and candle!  He got upset when we sang to him, but he got over it pretty quick when he got a taste of the cake.

On Thursday morning, we headed over to the NC State Fair for the day.  We had such a great time, and spent a lot of time in the animal barns because Henry loved it.

We met up with my friend Jennifer, her kids and her mother-in-law and visited lots of sites and sounds at the fair.  Jennifer and I were roommates in college and also went through the Animal Science program together, so the fair brings back so many memories for us.  It was really special to have our kids together and spending time at the fair :)

Leaving the fair after a great day!

After we left the fair, we went over to campus to visit Carrie and Sam.  They live in the the same dorm where I lived during my sophomore year of college so it was yet another flood of memories!  Carrie is an RA this year, so she doesn't get to come home as much as she did last year.  It was nice to be able to see her and Sam's rooms and to meet a few of their friends.

On our way back to CJ and Frank's, we stopped by Jessica and Meghan's houses for a visit.  They are next door neighbors, so we were able to see them both in the same stop!

Shew! Stinky feet!

One of the reasons we went home was because my Papa has had some recent health troubles, particularly with his heart.  On Tuesday of the week we went home, he had a pace maker put in, so he was still required to take it very easy while we were visiting...which if you know him, it's VERY hard to do!  Luckily, Nana and I were both there to fuss at him when he did something he shouldn't. :)

Silly boy eating supper

Yep, he's spitting his milk out...can we say ornery?

On Thursday night, my Aunt Libby asked me if Henry had ever pooped in the bathtub...and I said no, not yet.  Well, Friday night, it happened, right before my eyes.  I screamed, scared him, and then yelled for my mom...I was frozen and had no idea what to do after I grabbed him up out of the water!

Poop in the water...

My hero, who scrubbed the tub, washed the bath toys...pretty much saved the day!
